Introducing an easier way to move your crypto

Okcoin has become the first crypto exchange to integrate Unstoppable Domains, introducing simple, customizable crypto addresses to our users.

We’ve once again partnered with Unstoppable Domains to make it easier to send and receive crypto on Okcoin. With this new partnership, we are simplifying some of the existing complexities in crypto, making the space more user-friendly.

Crypto wallet addresses in their current form can be intimidating. We recognized this roadblock. Starting today, you’ll be able to send and receive crypto among friends and family by simply using memorable crypto addresses like johnsmith.crypto or johnsmith.zil. These addresses can be shared in the public domain without disclosing your wallet’s public or private key.

By integrating Unstoppable Domains on our exchange, we hope ultimately make it easier for people to move crypto around various platforms, including OKCoin.

Crypto doesn’t have to be so complicated

Just in the past few months, we’ve released a number of products to improve the utility of crypto on our platform. We’re working to make decentralized finance, or DeFi, more accessible with a product called Earn, which allows users at any level to take advantage of high-yield protocols in a secure, user-friendly interface.

Unstoppable’s integration with OKCoin is yet another step towards simplifying crypto utility on our exchange — in this case, the ability to move crypto around with more ease.

We believe that sending and receiving crypto should be easier than moving traditional money around. The challenge in crypto, however, has been the intimidating public and private wallet addresses that tend to be a friction point in onboarding new people to crypto, and make sending or receiving crypto more anxiety-inducing than it needs to be.

With Unstoppable Domains, OKCoin customers now have the option to replace their standard public wallet addresses with their own single, customizable, blockchain-based domain names. These domains are easy to remember — as easy as a Twitter handle. Your domain name will allow you to easily transfer a wide variety of cryptocurrencies between OKCoin and 40 external wallets and apps.

How do I get an Unstoppable Domain?

You can purchase your Unstoppable Domain here. The cost of these domains can range from $20 to $40 or more. Once you’ve purchased a domain and added it to your wallet, you are now ready to use it on OKCoin.

How do I use Unstoppable Domains to move crypto around?

40+ wallets and apps currently support Unstoppable Domains. This means you can now use your custom domain to move crypto from your wallet of choice, bring it over to OKCoin to invest, trade or earn interest on your crypto, and easily move it back whenever you want. To do this, you’ll simply enter your new custom domain in the withdrawal address field instead of your traditional wallet address. That’s it! It’s that simple. When you want to move crypto out of your OKCoin account and the same process applies.

OKCoin + Unstoppable Domains — making crypto simpler

“UX is one of key reasons for arguably a stalled crypto adoption among the ‘crypto curious’ who are often intimidated by the complexity in crypto products. We want to simplify the ins and outs of crypto for an average everyday investor,” said Haider Rafique, OKCoin CMO, continuing:

“Unstoppable Domains greatly increases the ease of moving crypto. This is important when onboarding new customers where sending and receiving can be daunting at first. It is critical we provide the necessary tools for users to succeed on our platform, and we believe that this partnership with Unstoppable Domains is a step in removing friction in trading and using crypto.”

“We’ve seen wallets adopt blockchain domains as a standard for sending crypto in 2020, but exchanges had yet to adopt this technology, said Brad Kam, co-founder of Unstoppable Domains, adding:

“A lot of crypto transfers occur to and from exchanges, so in order for blockchain domains to be truly interoperable, exchanges need to adopt this tech as well. We’re excited that OKCoin is the first exchange to adopt this standard and we believe that 2021 will be the year when the hex address finally disappears for users.”

What’s next? Use your Unstoppable Domain on OKCoin and you’ll be entered to win $10,000.
